Anatomy & Physiology Manual and Workbook
Designed for students in further education (FE) colleges and private training centres, 'Anatomy and Physiology for Holistic Therapists' is a complete training system designed to help teach this subject.
National governing bodies, such as the VTCT lay down standards for the teaching of A&P in their courses. This system has been designed to meet these standards. Questions in the workbook cover the full range and depth of VTCT standards so by completing the workbook you can be sure that students have met all necessary requirements. One centre has used this system for self-study on part time courses. Students read the manual and complete the work book as they progress.
The Learning System Consists of:
- Fully illustrated, 220 page course manual with integrated workbook pages that you can remove and mark. The manual is supplied 'loose leaf', but shrink wrapped to keep everything together. This system makes it much easier for tutors to take marking home.
- Completed workbook and mapping to VTCT standards (for lecturer use)
- A Virtual Learning Environment (VLE) with online marking.
- Powerpoint style lesson guides are currently in development. They have been put on the back-burner somewhat in order to concentrate on the VLE, so if you are interested then please let us know.

Unfortunately many books on this subject have been written by holistic therapists and often badly explain subjects or are incorrect in places. Stuart Marshall, one of the authors, is not only an holistic therapist, but also has a biological sciences degree and has taught his subject at both University and college levels. The authors also have the skill to simplify complicated subjects to a suitable level for the course with lots of relevant examples.
This system was written following a request from a local college who simply could not find a book that covered the subject well. The course was then developed by actually teaching it for a year with real students in the college. At the end of the year we made some minor changes, but students at the college raved about their A&P tuition.This was a complete turnaround, since in previous years this was the one area always seriously criticised in student exit questionnaires. This book has now subsequently been used in colleges up and down the country and successfully passed verification in each.
Virtual Learning Environment and Online Marking
Marlin has a virtual learning environment (VLE) which includes an online marking solution for the manual. Rather than filling in the workbook pages and handing them to the tutor to mark, students are able to log in to our virtual learning environment (through their normal web browser) and answer questions online. These are automatically marked and once the student reaches the required grade, they can be printed out and placed in their portfolio. Tutors have access to records of student grades, including the ability to see their answers in order to help those who are struggling with the standards.
In addition, the VLE has added learning tools, such as downloadable work sheets and videos that help to visually demonstrate a topic. The VLE is an enhancement of the manual and not a replacement.

Prices
