Virtual Learning Environment (VLE)
Marlin Productions have a VLE or on-line learning solution to complement our Anatomy and Physiology manual.
Online Marking
After working through each chapter in the manual, either in class or at home, students log in to our website and answer the questions online, instead of filling in the workbook sections. They will then get an instant grade and be able to print out the quiz for inclusion in their portfolio. Tutors have access to all student work, such as grades and also their answers so you can see where someone is going wrong. These reports are downloadable in several formats, such as text or excel.
Additional Features
In addition the system can include have forums and chats etc, so students can get help and support both from us, and from you. We are also extending the extra learning materials, such as video clips, to enhance the manual. There is also be a tutor only area, where you can contact Marlin and ask for help, or flag up problems or make suggestions. it will also contain extra download sheets etc.
Updated for 2009-10
The system has been running succesfully for a year and has now been updated to provide quizzes which require 100% pass rate. The student simply repeats the quiz until they have achieved success.
Fully Secure
The system is only accessible via password and log in and student data is secure. Daily backups are made so that server crashes do not cause students to lose work.
Each group is separate so that students and tutors can only see data from their own group.
